Architecture Innovation Drives the Hardware Revolution | RockAI CTO Yang Hua at the 2025 Southern Weekly Science and Technology Innovation Conference: "The Innovation of AI Large Models: AI Redefining Hardware"

分享

Recently, the Fifth Science and Technology Innovation Conference, hosted by Southern Weekly, was held in Shanghai, bringing together discussions on how technology is driving transformation across industries and releasing the series list of the "Annual Science & Technology Innovation Forces." RockAI CTO, Yang Hua,  delivered a keynote speech titled "The Innovation of AI Large Models: AI Redefining Hardware" (AI大模型创新:智能重新定义硬件), exploring the future of "AI redefining hardware" from the perspectives of large model architecture innovation, on-device AI, native built-in memory, and autonomous learning. During the award ceremony, RockAI was selected as one of the "Science & Technology Innovation Cases of the Year" (年度科创实践案例) for its scaled-production project, AIPC Based on the Yan Architecture Large Model.

In his talk, Yang Hua pointed out that on-device large models are AI models deployed locally and privately on end devices. Their core capabilities lie in multimodal perception, memory, and autonomous learning, enabling personalized services while ensuring data security and privacy. RockAI’s self-developed non-Transformer large model, Yan 2.0 Preview, adopts a feature-state-driven memory mechanism and a selective activation mechanism, endowing the model with memory capabilities while efficiently reducing computational redundancy, thus establishing a solid foundation for personalized device-level intelligence.

Yang Hua noted that the first phase of AI was defined by the success of “scale-driven belief,” whereas the next phase will witness the power of architecture. Only through architecture innovation grounded in "native built-in memory and autonomous learning" can intelligent hardware be equipped with a truly capable "brain".

It is worth noting that this year’s "Science & Technology Innovation Cases of the Year" — the AIPC powered by the Yan architecture large model — is a customized joint project between RockAI and a leading overseas brand for its Flagship AIPC product. The device, integrates the Yan architecture large model, offers features such as an AI voice assistant, AI meeting, AI album, and AI knowledge base, meeting users’ intelligent needs across multiple scenatios like daily work and entertainment.

The product has already entered large-scale mass production and is being shipped to overseas markets. At the core of the AIPC powered by the Yan architecture large model is that all AI functions run entirely on-device and fully offline. With its "true on-device AI with 100% offline operation" solution, the system ensures that data never leaves the local device, providing strong guarantees for data security and user privacy protection.

Driven by the mission of "Make every device its own intelligence", RockAI is deeply committed to the research and development of large models and their commercial deployment. The company is dedicated to bringing intelligence to all types of end devices, providing more people with personalized services through autonomous learning and memory capabilities.
